Request for arrest of the Minister of Justice for obstruction of justice is delivered to the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic. Flávio Dino wrapped the CPMI and Moraes on images, “needs to be arrested for obstructing justice.” The federal deputy Maurício Marcon (Podemos-RS) revealed, on Wednesday (30), that the representatives of the opposition in the Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) of January 8 forwarded to the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) request for the arrest of the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, due to the suspicions of concealment and destruction of evidence of alleged omission of the minister during the acts of vandalism in the Square of the Three Powers in Brasília.

The federal deputy Evair de Melo (PP-ES) tries to summon the minister in the Financial Supervision and Control Commission (CFFC) to provide clarifications.

Since the afternoon of Tuesday (29) rumors began to circulate about the automatic elimination of the images captured by the internal security cameras of the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice on January 8, which were requested by the CPMI for more than a month.

Faced with this suspicion, Marcon said, in an interview with Jovem Pan radio, that the opposition bench has already requested clarification on the contract signed with the company responsible for the security services in order to verify whether it was planned to retain these images for at least a year. This retention policy is similar to that adopted at the Planalto Palace and Itamaraty, where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is headquartered.

The deputy from Rio Grande do Sul expresses his skepticism about the fact that the only images presented by Flávio Dino to the CPMI obtained from two cameras were provided by the same contracted company, without apparent edits. “It’s all very suspicious. Such a delay for the minister to deliver the images or confirm or not the existence of them, “he said.

The parliamentarian points out that the pattern of responses given so far by the minister included an initial denial, followed by consultation with Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), who did not identify problems. Subsequently, content was made available only from two cameras. This sequence of events has raised the irritation of the opposition and more questions, and now comes the news that the images have been deleted. (SEE VIDEO)

The circumstances raise suspicions, even more so when considering the context of controversial arrests related to the invasions and depredations of buildings, under the premise of avoiding the destruction of evidence. There is a clear information gap and, as Marcon insinuates, “the evidence points to the possibility of prior planning.”

The parliamentarian also questions the fact that the Shield Plan, security protocol for protection of the Planalto Palace, has not been triggered, which would allow the restoration of normalcy in just 25 minutes. “In addition, it is known that about 240 agents from five battalions remained inactive in the area of the Ministry of Justice while the acts of vandalism occurred.”

The National Force had 5 platoons in the Ministry of Justice on January 8, unlike other buildings on the Esplanade. Opposition wants to hear Dino’s subordinates in the CPMI to highlight the federal omission on January 8
“Certificate of guilt of the Lula government,” says deputy who asks for Dino’s presence in House committee.

Deputy Evair de Melo filed on Wednesday, in the Financial Supervision and Control Commission (CFFC), a request to summon the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, to provide clarification on the alleged disposal of images.

The parliamentarian classifies the episode of possible “exclusion” of material under the responsibility of the folder and a reinforcement to the suspicion that the government was trying to hinder investigations of the CPMI of January 8 about omissions of federal authorities.

“We demanded, in the CPMI, the release of the images of the ministry, and Dino denied it. But yesterday (29) we had the information, by the press, that the images of the cameras that recorded the sides, the back and the inside of the building were totally erased. This is a true guilty plea of the Lula government,” he said. “In what they [government and allies] call a coup d’état, I see a trap of the left,” he added.

In his justification, Melo questions the ephemeral permanence of the images, which would have been retained for a period of only 15 days, being soon after erased under the pretext of freeing up storage space in the recording system. “There was no request from the ministry or the Federal Police to extend the retention of these images for a longer period,” he noted.

Melo points out that the other public buildings near the Three Powers Square and that did not suffer invasions kept the internal records of that date on file, such as the Itamaraty Palace, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “Brazilians need to know the real reason for the disappearance of these images. Who deleted it? Why were they deleted? Who gave the order? Are there no backup copies of the images?” he asked.

Deputy says minister chose images to be deleted
In a post on social networks on the morning of Wednesday (30), Deputy André Fernandes (PL-CE), suggested that Dino would have selected which images donate on January 8 would be revealed and which would be eliminated.

“If the images of the cameras of the Ministry of Justice erase every 15 days, how did Flávio Dino manage to send the images of two cameras of the MJ of the day 8/1 to the CPMI? First Dino handpicked which images to send, then deleted the other images committing CRIME!”
