The Workers’ Cause Party (PCO) criticized the complaint by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), of Paulo Gonet, appointed by Lula, against former President Jair Bolsonaro and 33 other individuals about an alleged coup attempt, without weapons.
In an article entitled “Paulo Gonet’s political tribunal”, the PCO argues that the accusation lacks concrete evidence and is based on a subjective “context” to incriminate Bolsonaro.
“Gonet accused the 34 investigated of what he wanted. However, as he gave up the evidence and preferred to denounce a former president of the Republic because of the “context”, he was forced to create a story.”, says the text.
In the article, the left-wing party points out that, as in the decision of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) that made Bolsonaro ineligible, the PGR did not present objective evidence of specific illegal acts committed by the former president.
“Making use of a pile of more than 250 pages, Gonet accuses Bolsonaro of having committed a series of crimes without, however, presenting a single piece of evidence,” the acronym declares.
The PCO also emphasizes that using the “context” as a basis for a conviction violates fundamental principles of law, such as legality, isonomy and legal certainty.
The party ended the article by stating that: “Far from proving any crime, Gonet’s denunciation is one of the most aberrant cases of the use of the state for the persecution of a political leadership.”
The acronym also in a recent publication on X (formerly Twitter) stated that the “big coup plotters” are not the Bolsonarists, but institutions such as the Federal Supreme Court (STF), the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) and the Federal Police.
The big coup plotters are not the Bolsonarists.
It is the STF, the PGR itself, the Federal Police, Rede Globo, the toucans. That is, those who not only considered, but who carried out the coup d’état in 2016. And now they once again launch their coup operation.
